Filed under turning digital products into cash
You’ve now acquired a number of digital products to use, but you’re not sure of how you can use them to build your business. The best place to start is by identifying what you can and cannot do with these products.
In most cases, digital products will come with a set of rights, which will either be “resell rights” or “private label content rights.” The former, as the name suggests, only allows you to resell the product without modifying it. In fact, in some instances, it will even limit who you can sell it to or how many copies of it you can sell. The latter, on the other hand, allows you to modify the content as you wish and then resell it in your chosen form. You can even put your own name on it.
If you just have resell rights, your single goal should be to maximize your usage. If, for instance, you can sell 500 copies of a given digital product, try to sell all 500 before you start looking for new products to buy.
This advice sounds overly-simplistic, but, in fact, it is actually quite important, since almost no one who purchases “resell rights” products ends up maximizing their use. Instead, they purchase massive packages – and then end up buying another massive package before they finished using the first.
Now, when it comes to private label content, you should take the same approach, but also be a little more creative. For instance, you may want to consider pulling several chapters out of the product if it is a book – and giving them away for free to prospective customers — or you may want to consider setting up a demo version if it is a piece of software.
Regardless of what decision you make, you will want to take the products that you have available and market them to your fullest capacity before you attempt to switch to something else.

If you are like me, having tons of digital products in your hard drive collecting digital dust, learning how to turn it into cash is probably what you need. I have been researching and testing some methods. In the next few posts, I will be posting on some methods which you can make profit out of your old digital products.
Turning digital products into cash is a powerful skill that, if acquired, will allow any person to virtually print her own money. In contrast, without this skill, you can have access to an unlimited amount of digital products for free – and it won’t matter at all; you’ll never use it to generate any revenue whatsoever.

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills back.
With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is why article writing, submissions and publications are also getting popular.
There are already many tools that people can use to make the process of distributing their articles more easily. Though this is invaluable in getting the contents more exposure, which is only half of the story.
Let us take a look first at the common mistakes that some people make before submitting their contents to article directories:
1. Confusing the reason to promote the articles with the reason to write them.
In article writing, there are three key benefits why you are promoting them; branding, lead generation and promotion, which are all part of your optimization efforts.
But there is only one reason why you write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If the article is not focused on this primary and most important purpose, it will fail to achieve the three promotion benefits because no one will be interested in reading them.
You need to figure out first how to get people to read what is in your article, then make them click on your resource box. You can achieve this by producing better contents.
2. Failing to maximize the promotional opportunities of article marketing.
You may know already that your articles can help you generate additional links back to your site. But do you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from that same articles?
Mention keywords at strategic places. Just be sure not to overdo them. Some are even using anchor texts which is also an effective method. But it is important to know that majority of the directories are not able to support this.
Remember that is not only about the links back to your site. Part of doing well in your article marketing is getting picked up by publishers with a large number of audiences and gaining the ability of leveraging other brands because of the quality of your work. Better search engine results also are great benefits.
But these things do not put much money in your pocket. There are other factors that can turn your article marketing efforts into an opportunity that can boost your earnings. Not just increase the number of visitors to your site.
Start out with a plan and see to it that your article will serve the function that you intended it to have.
3. Publishing content that does not help your readers.
Maybe in the process of writing articles, you are thinking that all that is you wanted is links back to your site. And any visitors it can generate are fine.
Guess what? Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically. Oftentimes, they have some guidelines and specifications on the articles that they are accepting.
You can double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles that the directories want to share with other people. All it takes is one publisher with a hundred thousand readers to increase your potential audience overnight.
Write the articles that publishers want in their publications if you want your article marketing to work the most effective way for you. This also means you have to obey the standard guidelines, spell checks, researching on a good topic and even hiring a writer to produce a good content on your behalf.
In the end, it is all really a matter of choice on your part. You can start getting a little exposure from increased links back but on a very basic level. Or enjoy massive exposure from a little extra time making quality contents.
It will be your choice. You may not be aware of the fact that an article submitted on directories is not meant to have the same level of exposure as highly-targeted content ones geared on a narrow group of people.
Learn the difference between these two and it will surely help you know what kinds of articles to write and to submit.

Pay Per Lead is a very profound marketing technique. In this method you refer sales lead to a merchant by some means like referral through your website or by sending mails to users describing the salient features of the merchant’s products. The objective is to send a potential customer to the merchant’s web site. For your effort in sending this sales lead, the merchant pays you commission. This technology marvels have given scope to find visitors whether its from your own website or from the emails sent by you. Here your job is limited to sending leads only, NOT sales.
Most importantly pay per lead is a pre- sale. The customer does not have to buy any product or service for him to be paid. The customer needs to visit only; prominently he has to show interest. Pay per Lead generally is done either by clicking links like Google Adsense or filling out forms showing the interest level of the customers, where the forms are to be submitted online. On receiving the form, the merchant starts applying his marketing techniques through various modes of interaction to convert the lead to a sale.
Let us take an example of Paypal (http://www.paypal.com), the virtual bank. Paypal pays you a sum of $5, when some referrals of yours sign up with paypal.
The most profound logic for the most renowned marketing giants is when an enquiry shows interest in your product or services and then half the marketing is accomplished. This based on the notion that an uninterested person will hardly waste his time is making a phone call or submitting the form for a product.

Internet Marketing is, in a nutshell, marketing and selling products and/or services using the Internet as a medium.
More often than not, Internet Marketing is often perceived as “selling another Internet Marketing or Internet Business” product to another person. This could not be any further from the truth!
Whoever comes up with statements like this are not seeing an inch wider about the entire picture. Consider the following:
• Is Google.com about teaching another person how to start an Internet Business?
• Is eBay.com about teaching another person how to start an Internet Business?
• Is Amazon.com about teaching another person how to start an Internet Business?
Don’t get me wrong, though. There is a lot of money to be made in Internet Marketing itself. The last time I checked Overture, the keyword “Internet Marketing” yields a stunning 313,805 searches a month!
The number of people going online in pursuit of starting their Internet Businesses increases exponentially every year. On top of that, that could also mean there will be more virtual versions of B2B (Business-to-Business).
Nothing wrong with that, though. After all, the chemical manufacturing company I was working in last time has customers who are mainly companies themselves, some even well-known names. Does that make conventional businesses all about “teaching another person how to start a conventional business?”
Likewise, some of my repeat customers are top marketers you have probably heard of. For example, I supply some top marketers with “raw contents”, namely Private Label products, for their businesses, just as the chemical company I was working in supplies raw chemicals to other cleaning companies so that they can run their cleaning operations.
While there is real money to be made in Internet Marketing, I caution you to use your wise judgment in trusting who you want learn from, because like anything else and in religion, there are always “false prophets”.
Most people say, “Beware of the guru”. But I think that “false prophets” are dangerous all the time. “False prophets” today are not necessarily con artists and scammers, but they can also come in the form of… believe it or not, one-week-old newbies!
They would go on write a book on making 5-6 figures and later go to the public forums and ask questions such as, “How do I sell this eBook?” “How do I write my sales copy?” and “Why am I not making any sale?” Ironic but true. Do you want this kind of person for a mentor – a one-week old, green newbie, who has no proven credibility whatsoever?

Unfortunately, I was once believe in Paid to surf programs as well until one by one they took my money and disappeared. Most paid-to-surf programs are either illegal or not workable. While there are legitimate paid-to-surf programs, they are not considered Internet Businesses to you as a member, unless you are the one starting and running the paid-to-surf program.
More often than not, it is unworkable for most surfers, and it mainly benefits the advertisers and its paid-to-surf operators. And ultimately, most of these are actually running a pyramid scheme where new members money are used to pay old members. So the faster you get out of these scams the better.

When I first explored the internet, I used to subscribe to this “work at home get rich quick” non sense. I am not surprised if there are still many people still subscribe to these scams.
This is not what I call an Internet Business (although in the principal scam letter, it is always pitched that “he asked his lawyer and he said it is legal”), but a cleverly-planned and deceitful scam that started right from the top of the pyramid scheme and all the way down. I must admit, though, that whoever came up with these, sure is a genius who is insulting a lot of people’s intelligence successfully.
I would not elaborate it here, but if you are interested in finding out what and how these Internet scams operate, do your homework on the Search Engines. Just know that online activities such as stuffing envelopes, $6 “Money Games” with your name moving up to the top and down the list with other 4-5 names, etc. are scams and not Internet Businesses.
